Psalm Chapter 119 Narrative
Well known as the longest chapter in the bible, Psalm 119 is one of the acrostics. However, unlike other acrostics, which contain only one verse for each of the 22 Hebrew letters, this celebrated Psalm includes 8 verses for each letter, making it a total of 176 verses. Thus there are 22 stanzas, each containing 8 verses beginning with the same Hebrew letter - Thomas Nelson PublisherThe general scope and design of this psalm is to magnify the Divine law, and make it honorable. There are 10 words by which Divine revelation is called in this psalm, and each expresses what God expects from us, and what we may expect from Him: 1. God's law; 2. His way; 3. His testimonies; 4. His commandments; 5. His precepts; 6. His word, or saying; 7. His judgments; 8. His righteousness; 9. His statutes; 10. His truth or faithfulness. - Matthew HenryWith God's help, Anthony Chow has composed twenty-two (22) songs based on this beautiful psalm.
